1st post of a long yarn
1st post just to get things rolling Hey there GenX gal in Northern California This blog is where I will park some of my yarn journey. It started in the mid 70's when I felt the need to learn how to crochet. I'd enjoyed making lanyards and other crafts, but something about crochet strongly attracted me. Bought a cheap kit from Thrifty's & taught myself. 1st big challenge was having to reverse pattern instructions & illustrations in my mind because I'm left handed. Life happened. Lots of drama. Mid 80's, I was loitering in the Woolworth's basement on Market/Powell St in San Francisco - they kept the birds, fishes & rodents down there...I ran across a bin of acrylic yarn mill ends sold by the pound...and that old connection came back to life. I made several hats & then lugged my stash with me through numerous moves. Housing became stable after moving out of San Francisco and up to Lake County (It's NE from Sonoma & Napa Cos).
